Chassis repair
I thought that the chassis was in pretty good shape. Little did I know. There was substantial rust and rot in a few areas. Especially at the front of the car where the cabin/bulkhead rests on the chassis. So I cut all rotted parts out and welded new metal in. The first job was the cover plate of the chassis. When I opened it up, I found that the car had functioned as a home for some kind of animal/rodent....
Next up, some other areas needed attention. I will let the pictures speak for themselves
There were some more rusty parts on the bottom side of the chassis. In the end I was glad that I replaced all these nasty parts because they are an important part of the supporting structure of the chassis.
