New Lights and Steering Wheel Fitted for Upcoming Adventure

I fitted the GS with a new reproduction steering wheel, which I picked up at CitroClassica this year. It came from an Italian supplier who also produces steering wheels for the DS and SM. The quality is excellent—solid construction with only a few spots where the molding lines are slightly noticeable to the touch. I expect those will smooth out with use over time.

It was time to install a new Cibié headlight on the left side of the car. The right side had already been replaced, and now with a matching pair of fresh headlights, the front really stands out. I also fitted new blinker light reflector glasses—what makes them extra special is that they came in their original Citroën spare parts boxes. There’s something uniquely satisfying about installing parts that have been sitting on a shelf for 30, maybe even 40 years. These treasures came from the warehouse of the Dutch GS Club.

It is all part of a big preparation to go on a road trip with the GS the coming week. I will drive around 3000 kilometres to the south of France and back. I will document the trip on this website of course. Stay tuned for more.
